ANDY DWYER (VOCALS, GUITAR, MERCH SALES)
Andy Dwyer, 29, has lived in Pawnee for his entire life. "It's my home," he says, emotionally. Dwyer has written over 300 songs, and serves as the band's lead vocals, rhythm guitarist, manager, advisor, merch seller, and "creative force" and brains. Trivia: the band's hit song "Ann" was written for Andy's ex-girlfriend, "Ann." It will never be sung again.
Andy can be found most weekdays at the Pawnee City Hall shoeshine stand, which also doubles as Mouse Rat's merch HQ! Stop by to pick up Mouse Rat's latest album, cast your ballot for a new band name, or get your shoes shined by Pawnee's only vocal guitarist footwear specialist (that's Andy).
JAMES PIERSON (DRUMS)
For years, James was the drummer in Mouse Rat's nemesis band, The Sprinklers. Then one day he finally came to see those dudes for the assbags they really are, and joined us.
(And by the way, if you're reading this, assbags from The Sprinklers, you still have three of our mic stands, and if you don't give them back we're going to sue you. I have friends in the government, and they can have you audited or arrested.)
One thing you might not know about James is that he makes his own drumheads from recycled motorcycle jackets. This makes him a badass for several reasons: (1) Motorcycle jackets are cool, (2) Making your own drums is cool, and (3) Stealing the motorcycle jacket of the lead singer of The Sprinklers is cool.
MICHAEL CHANG (BASS, BACKING VOCALS)
Michael is a famous tennis player who won the French Open like 10 times! Just kidding, different Michael Chang. This Michael Chang is pretty good at tennis, but he's really good at gymnastics -- especially the trampoline. In high school, he tried to get the International Olympic Committee to make trampolining an official Olympic sport. After calls to the I.O.C. went unanswered for months, he gave up trampolining for playing in a band with his high school buddy, Andy Dwyer.
The first ever band that Andy and Michael played in was a swing craze duo called "The Dizzy Dames." When they realized that "dames" means "girls," they changed their name to "The Daddy Fellas." Twenty-five amazing name changes and two band members later, they're Mouse Rat.
(If you ever meet Michael, don't mention that Trampolining became an Olympic event in 2000.
It would crush him.)
WYATT "BURLY" BURLINSON (GUITAR, BACKING VOCALS)
Burly is "the shy one."
But just calling him "the shy one" doesn't really do Burly justice. Burly's more like a shy, anal-retentive neat freak who gets upset with his temporary roommates when they're just trying to live normally.
Like, Burly gets mad when someone puts the Pop Tarts box in his underwear drawer. But, doesn't it make sense to put the two first things you grab in the morning -- a frosted strawberry Pop Tart and, on laundry day, a pair of your roommate's clean underwear -- in the same spot? Burly calls this "a gross invasion of privacy." Others call it "an inspired time-saver."
Other than that, Burly's an okay guy and pretty solid guitar player.
