June 2010

On this week’s edition of “Andy’s Jams,” I’ll focus on great “sad songs” in history. So, if you’re feeling blue, put these suckers on your iPod and thing’s only get worse!

Songs

Simon & Garfunkel – “April Come She Will”

Now, a brief warning: I have never heard this song, so I do not know how sad it is, or whether it is in fact sad, or if it’s even a song. For all I know it could be part of a lecture series or something. But recently I have developed feelings for a girl named “April,” and I accidentally got kissed by a separate girl, and April disappeared and I haven’t seen her since. Then, one day I was AltaVista-ing the name “April” and this popped up, and it made me sad.

R.E.M. – “Everybody Hurts”

Change of pace here, for the last one -- I have no idea why, but this song always sends me into a giggle fit! I just can’t stop laughing! And laughing’s really important when you’re feeling sad, you guys. So thanks, R.E.M.
